JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
AATC is seeking a Managing Director to help lead us in our 35th year of producing plays and offering theater classes for the Asian American community.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Management:
- Prepares budgets, provides financial analyses to the Board, and maintains accounts payable/receivable and payroll records using spreadsheets and database software (currently QuickBooks, Excel and FileMaker Pro)
- Responsible for financial oversight of productions, programs and events
Development:
- Researches grant opportunities, writes grant applications and reports, with input and assistance from Artistic Director
- Responsible for donor and membership development
- Organizes fundraising events with the Board
Marketing:
- Builds and maintains relationships with community members, media, foundations, and government agencies to publicize and market AATC’s programs
- Assists the Board in publicity efforts for all programming (press releases, online publicity, print postcards and fliers, posters, etc)
- Maintains the AATC master donor database, audience email and contact list, and Board yahoogroups
Volunteer/Intern Recruitment and Management:
With the AATC Board:
- Recruits, interviews, communicates with, trains, manages, and evaluates volunteers/interns
Operations and Facilities:
With the AATC Board:
- Maintains office files and books;
- Coordinates theater rentals
- Maintains office equipment (including PCs and printers) and purchases office supplies
- Maintains AATC Store and fills orders from customers
Experience
- 10+ years of experience preferred; retired professionals welcome.
- The ideal candidate is a seasoned non-profit manager who is interested in working with an energetic board of directors to help lead the Asian American Theater Company in its 35th year of producing plays and offering theater classes for the Asian American community.
