CAST

Jon Gentry (Jerome Dupree) is a member of the A.C.T. Master of Fine Arts Program class of 2010. Favorite past productions include “Romeo and Juliet” (Paris) and “All’s Well that Ends Well” (Soldier/Lord) with Shakespeare Santa Cruz, “Macbeth” (Macduff), “Julius Caesar” (Marcus Brutus), “Blues For an Alabama Sky” (Leland), and “In The Blood” (Reverend D./Baby). Jon received his B.A. in English from Harvard University.

Lisa Kang (Laura-Lai Lee) is native to the Bay Area, where she has acted for several years. She has recently been seen in “Ching Chong Chinaman” at Impact Theater, “Satellites” at Aurora Theater, various pieces with One4All Theater Company, and the award-winning “Immortal Heart” with Word for Word. This July at the Thick House, Lisa’s play, “Dublin”, will be read as part of AATC’s New Works Incubator Showcase. She thanks Duy and Alan for their love and support!

Kathleen Mendoza (Debbie Lee) is currently a student at UC Berkeley majoring in Psychology and Social Welfare. On campus, she is the Assistant Producer of Theatre Rice, an Asian American Theatre organization. She has
also performed with Bindlestiff Studios and has participated in various shows during high school and college. She is very excited to be a part of this amazing performance for the Asian American Theater Company.

Kenneth Tan Ronquillo (Connor Lee) obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Public Health at UC Berkeley. He recently joined Funk4Soul Dance Company. Previous performances: “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”; “The Apollo of Bellac”; “The Odd Couple”; “Funeral Parlor”; “Footloose”; “42nd Street”; “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown”.

Erika V. Pallasigue (Shadow Characters) is currently a junior at UC Berkeley. She is involved with Theatre Rice, a modern Asian American theater group, as well as Berkeley’s annual Pilipino Culture Night where she has stage managed and directed. She has also worked with Onstage Playhouse in San Diego as an intern. She is a member of the International Thespian Society, Troupe 3144. This is her first time working with the Asian American Theater Company.

Jonathan Amores (Assistant Director) is new to the AATC family. He will be graduating from UC Berkeley this fall with a BA in Theater & Performance Studies and Mass Communications. At Berkeley, Jonathan was the Producer of Theatre Rice! Modern Asian American Theater and worked with the Department of Theater, Dance & Performance Studies and Barestage Productions. His past directing projects include Edward Albee’s The American Dream and Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple.

Josef M. Anolin (Stage Manager, Sound Designer, Property Master) is a Filipino Japanese American from Oakland, California. This is his first time working with the wonderful folks of the Asian American Theater Company, but he cut his teeth so to speak with Bindlestiff Studio in San Francisco’s SOMA. Lighting? Sound Technician? Stand-up comedy? Stage Managing? Acting? Learned the foundation at Bindlestiff. Enjoy the show! Thank you’s: friends, family, crew, MNM, and you.

Bruce Thierry Cheung (Set Designer) is a designer and filmmaker based in Brooklyn, New York. This past year, he worked with architecture firm Studio Daniel Libeskind on an urban master plan for Seoul, South Korea. He is currently in graduate school at NYU and is preparing to shoot a documentary on sustainable design in Cambodia.

Aaron Abad Niles (Set Construction) is an architect by trade and a theatre actor by night. He is happy to have been given the opportunity to combine both passions. Aaron would like to thank his father, Richard Niles, Val Chow, Josef Anolin, and Michael Ricca for their support and wisdom.

Heike Seefeldt (Scenic Design and Painting) is a native German, who has been working as a professional scenic artist for more than ten years. She received her MFA with First Class Honors from the University of Fine Arts in Dresden, Germany. In 2004, Heike settled in San Francisco, and has since been working for a great variety of theater-, tv-, and mural-companies in the Bay Area, including CalShakes, the Berkeley Repertory Theater, A.C.T., the Marin Theater Company, the San Jose Repertory Theater, the Napa Valley Repertory Theater, the Intersection for the Arts, and many more. www.pintofpaint.com.

Matthew Graham Smith (Movement Consultant) is the Artistic Director of Precarious Theatre Company and will be directing AATC’s world premiere of Philip Kan Gotanda’s “The Angry Red Drum” in October 2009.

Dustin Snyder (Lighting Designer) has over 10 years of experience in theater and stage performance, and is a lighting design professional. You can check him out rocking the lightboard at Mezzanine, where he is currently the resident lighting director.

Annie Wang (Costume Designer) is a slave to fashion, books, and music. In her spare time, you can catch her performing with her sketch comedy group Kamikaze Theory, knitting or reading at a cafe, or dancing to Peaches. Her favorite role to date is still the dominatrix in “The Vagina Monologues” where she had the opportunity to perform various orgasmic moans AND raise money to support women. Tap the T.A.P. or as she says to her friends, “Keep it TIGHT!”

Cynthia Wilson (Make-Up Designer) has worked at the SF Opera as a make-up artist. She studied with Gerd Mairandres and has been active for many years in the Bay Area as the original make-up artist for the Zellerbach Arts Assistance Program. She has worked for the Carla Blank Dance Theater, Theater of Yugen, Theater Rhino, Word for Word, the Children’s Opera Workshop, and Black Repertory Company among many others. She is honored to be working with AATC on a brand new play.

Susu-Ming Yan Yang
(Costume Assistant) is an SFSU undergraduate majoring in the theatre program, focusing on costume design. From 2006 to 2009, she worked on 6 major theater productions and art projects in costume design and art direction.
